Pros

Before Cognizant took over, TriZetto was a great place to work, with bright minds, new ideas and high levels of talent all across the board. This has unfortunately dissipated since integration.

Cons

Since integration, it has been a sinking ship, with long serving employees leaving and others being “benched” and eventually laid off due to Cognizant’s heavy outsourcing while there is no backfilling due to Cognizant’s “policy.” This has led to an atrocious work/life balance for everyone still left and nobody from Cognizant seems to care. There is zero regard for employee satisfaction.

Pros

None. Absolutely none unless you are a Tamilian.

Cons

1. It is a tamil company with all the top management who are tamilians. 2. Official meetings, team activities and daily work will be communicated in tamil ONLY. 3. All the opportunities such as promotion, onsite, rewards, recognition are strictly for tamilians. 4. You are not supposed to complain about this, for which you get a common reply - learn tamil. 5. Higher management is mostly tamilians and would exploit and stigmatize people of other languages. 6. HR feedbacks, skip level meetings are but USELESS. Its not confidential and you would be even reprimanded then and there. 7. Tamil people will get the top bucket even though they are worthless. They will be sent onsite saying they have the right skills. HR people reply for this is 'ýou should have faith in the system'. 8. Middle level management is the worst who ruin your career, exploit, defame and undervalue your work. Managers who don't even know the technology would be judging your work. 9. Tamilians would get the easy work while the other people would be burdened with heavy workload. 10. Innovation will not be recognized for people of other language. Managers, Leads are the worst people I have worked so far. They lack the skills, knowledge. You should be writing the code or logic for them to understand not something innovative. 11. Senior Management conduct some Innovative workshops and would reward tamilians alone.

Pros

> Modern office with daily spread of breakfast items, fruit and Nespresso machines > Few decent colleagues and interesting internal work

Cons

The biggest con working for Cognizant is the concentration of Indian men at the very top levels of the organisation. There is blatant racism against women, and non-indians in the form of lessened opportunities. Other cons include directors who try and push off work on junior resources, overspend on their budgets and overall do not know how to manage teams. The performance review process is biased and unfair, not to mention extremely vague. Too much hierarchy, gossip and work politics. Cognizant lost a lot of work in Q4 2016 and Q1 2017 so they are trying to lay off employees to cut their costs, without realising that they are suffering from a damaged reputation and no price can be placed on that. Really a pathetic work culture, where mistakes are blamed on others instead of being learned from.
