Pros

Reasonable brand name, opportunity to work in different industry areas, potentially good springboard if someone is considering business school or management studies.

Cons

Extremely poor pay, very generic approach to compensation - performance based pay scale very linear, no opportunities for training and development, promotion process fairly ad-hoc, opportunistic management takes advantage of H1-B workers who have filed for immigration, very few people ready to take on mentoring roles

Pros

I've had the opportunity to work at various clients in different industries which is the main benefit of working for a consulting firm.

Cons

Heavy travel, but that goes with the territory for consulting. Performance based on revenue managed not quality of work. Little support when you roll off a project to get staffed on your next role, you need to sell yourself off the bench.

Pros

Great team members - very good place to develop skills and stretch creative flexibility. Every engagement however is very different in experience.

Cons

Promotion / Round table process.
