Pros

Work culture is good. No spying on employees. Open door policy.

Cons

In SAP there are two divisions, one is OS and the other is TS. Once you join OS which basically has support project then life long you have to be in OS, thats too bad. You cant move to TS even after 5 yrs!!!!

Pros

technical skills development of junior staff, well-respected technology consulting practice. Less so for the US-based management consulting practice which started in 2008

Cons

stove-piping and pigeon holing of certain skill-sets. Difficult to move from technology practice to management consulting practice which is highly selective and much smaller (about 300 consultants in US) compared to Technology Services with has about 2000 consultants.

Pros

Capgemini is an amazing place to launch a career in IT consulting. I feel it is truly a meritocracy where hard work is rewarded through promotions and recognition.

Cons

Hard work may be recognized and rewarded through promotions but not through increased compensation. Incoming base salary is a heavy weight to move (employees may be bought in from other companies at a high rate, and stay ahead of the overachievers on compensation). Work life balance is lost due to the no over time policy, meaning managers are poised to continuously ask for consultants to end their days late in the night. Getting varied experience across industries also proves difficult if you are positioned into a business unit serving a niche market. Annual training requirements are far too low and higher education is not supported.
