      In the beginning it was a very positive work environment but in the end there was no communication.

      Pros

      Other then the management the general staff in most departments were very good people to work with. In most cases I found that communication was good. When there weren't so many economic crises usually the pay and general feed back you received was positive.

      Cons

      In the current economic times the upper management decisions are poor at best. It feels as if they are only thinking from short term perspective rather then long term. It makes for a very unsettled work environment. Generally the pay and bonuses at BNP are the lowest in the financial world.

      Pros

      BNP Paribas is the leading investment banking in france but is still a medium sized actor in the world and one can feel the heritage of state owning.

      Cons

      As all french companies, BNP Paribas lacks flexibility in terms of human resources. There are huge inefficiencies and hard working people are not always rewarded.

      Pros

      Good Job security. Good name to have on your CV (carries weight when looking for another job).

      Cons

      Senior Management in UK are relatively weak. Decision making is slow. This can be a positive, but can also result in heaps of inefficiency and uneccessarily slow, as is the case in BNPP UK. Being a branch, you are still subject to the whims of Paris via Brussels. IT Service desk & facilities are the worst in class. Some systems were still not working when I left. Worst of all, a lot of the front line staff, including senior management simply gave the impression that they did not want to be there (stuck, because they can't find anything elsewhere?). Advice to Senior Management
