Challenging, rewarding, and quality-of-life-conscious

Pros

BD is very conscious of quality of life, working environment is very congenial, work is challenging but rewarding. BD is very committed to its mission statement of "helping all people live healthy lives", and work to that end is rewarding.

Cons

Compensation is at best average compared to others in the medical products industry. Company is too risk-averse in product development and overdependent on acquisition for innovation. BD typically does not like to hire employees without significant experience, which leads to having an older workforce.

Pros

Nice campus. Stable industry and decent pay.

Cons

Very political and difficult to move in the organization. Little if any opportunities for advancement. Groups in IT do not work together and in many cases will outright lie. Strong push to outsource as much as possible with out any thought given to how to do it properly.
