Pros

There's a quite a bit of opportunities to work in different areas in the company. In San Jose we have unlimited sick days and paid Christmas week shutdown. In many cases there's a lot of options to receive training (through BD university or outside vendors) Good vacation policies - starting with 3 weeks, additional week after 10 years and additional week after 25 years.

Cons

Very expensive medical insurance with only 80% coverage, high deductibles and maximum out of pocket. A lot of politics, Senior management doesn't always follow the recommendation from their employees, which often ends badly. IT is very corporate driven, which doesn't leave many opportunities for other IT people around the world. Comparing to other companies in the Bay Area - salaries are low. A lot of working hours, weekends, etc.

Pros

Peers were nice and knowledgable, and the technologies were good.

Cons

Way too much stress and politics. BD could be thinned-out so nicely and run like a well-oiled machine, but it's a gold old boy network of lifers and their friends.

Pros

Excellent benefits (medical, dental, vision, STD, LTD, 401k matching, 1x life and AD&D, unlimited sick days, 15 days PTO, Christmas shutdown, pension) opportunities to move laterally within company, good work/life balance

Cons

More managers than actual people reporting to those managers. Some non performing associates/ managers were not properly disciplined or let go even after negative performance reviews. Methodologies/reorganization of departments every 2-3 years was fairly normal
