Pros

Good salary and relatively stable job as long as you are ok doubling your workload with every “integration” while keeping everything else constant. Growth is guaranteed if you are good at playing politics and sucking up to the right leaders. Champions a lot of good causes to improve its rankings and image. Optics are at least as important as substance, and the speak up culture is always appreciated when it’s flattering but filtered out otherwise.

Cons

Underdeveloped middle and upper management left to play politics and experiment with their teams without any proper checks or balances. The company more than doubled in size through acquisitions in a very short period of time, yet its associate development and culture feel like that of a company a quarter its size. The pendulum constantly shifts from hiring a wave of “external talent” to counter the lack of investing in associate development, all the way to suddenly promoting random people into roles that they are severely unqualified for to check the box on an annual retention or promotion key driver goal.
