Management cares more about butts in seats than qualified staff. Bottom line: Its all about the Benjamin's for Avanade regardless of how you get there. If the client is unhappy but can't leave the contract so much the better. I worked there for 4 years. In that time I was able to get training once (and that wasn't in my field). Every request for training in my area was denied. Management would use vulgarity and threats on staff without recourse. Exercising your benefits is made problematic by unhelpful staff who seem out to hinder as much as possible.

I was only at Avanade for 9 months. I was sold on the strategy shift towards digital and the opportunity to build that out. I was also told the travel would be more like it was in an agency. In the end none of that proved true. I was specialized in mobile applications and didn't work on or see one mobile application project in the pipeline. Avanade is VERY Microsoft centric. Too much so in today's world. I also wish I'd have know that Avanade was essentially Accenture's Microsoft arm. I would never have joined the company as there's nothing about Accenture staff aug that appeals to me. Travel is 100% no matter what they tell you. Career opportunities are limited and driven by how much revenue you generate or save especially at the higher levels.
