Pros

- Great colleagues and exceptional technical talent - Nice benefit perks such as the $2K "gadget budget" - Great individual leaders still scattered within the organization, if you're lucky enough to find one as a sponsor.

Cons

- Maniacal focus on financial targets, lacks higher mission and purpose to motivate employees - A great place to work when we launched in 2000 and all the way through the Mitch Hill years, 2000-2007. Now the company has lost its "mojo" and struggling to grow - Current leadership team turned the company from an entreprenurial, growth oriented company into a cost-cutting, policy centric organization. - Company hordes cash at the expense of employees and big, bold investments. If your best cash management strategy is to put as much cash into the Accenture piggy bank, you've just succeeded adding 0.5 cent to their quarterly earnings.

Pros

Decent salary. Flexible, remote working. DEI initiatives.

Cons

Promotion & pay review processes are non-existing. Quality of line managers is very poor. Patronising seminars about managing burnout while work increases. An excess of energy is poured into the employer brand which ultimately is not backed up by deeds. Extremely lacklustre marketing organisation - full of ineffective incumbents. So much work goes into producing so little. Marketing output feels like warmed up slop. Politics - those who are seen to work well get all the praise. Very poor and contradictory comms around tight budgets and limited promotions - in the next announcement they announce extensive promotions. Layoffs - people get disappeared like in season 4 of the Wire. Comms are that they 'left.' Tight budgets - for an organisation with a turnover of several billion dollars the marketing budget is tiny - in the single millions. Probably because it all goes to paying the salaries of ineffective execs.

Pros

Been on great projects with awesome clients and received generous raises and promotions and awesome benefits with paid certifications.

Cons

If you are not on a long term project and enjoy countless short term project jumping do not make long term commitment as in buying a house, this isn't a long term career job as many consulting jobs aren't. Avoid Bench at all cost or you will be laid off eventually. There has been many veteran long term employees who have been laid off in the past year or two and I never seen a company who wouldn't rehire them unlike other firms I worked for. Also more money and promotions you make, you can forget about working on projects that you are a pro at due to level cost, which makes it hard to find desirable project and you will be on bench. My Scheduling is a tool to look for projects and apply, but you will find it pointless. Also Avanade has career advisors who are clueless and don't help in finding projects. They're selfish and only care about themselves.
