      From great to not so great place to work.

      Pros

      Great company to work if you have not previous pharma experience. The company offers a really good training and its reputation with healthcare providers is very good in general, despite the overwhelming number of reps calling on them.

      Cons

      Super conservative company that seems to be afraid to take the lead even though they have some of the best drugs out there. "If the speed limit is 70 mph, they like to go at 55 mph" quote from one of the company speakers. Life/work balance it's a joke. Oh, watch out speaking your mind.

      Great products, but national sales strategy falls short.

      Pros

      Great benefits, great products, good training, good first level managers on average. good 401K benefits, nationally recognized products, good service to medical community.

      Cons

      Poor middle management on average, current sales strategy that is unwelcomed by medical professionals, poor HR follow up and communication. This organization talks like it has the best for its employees in mind, but that is only really seen on a high level basis, not regionally or locally. It is very common for DSMs to have 70-80hr work weeks 60-80% of the time and it is supported by management.

      Pros

      Good people, good products, good plans for the future.

      Cons

      The industry in general is at a critical time in history right now. There are alot of changes coming in the health care industry, which will continue to result in Pharma company layoffs. You should look very closely at your states political environment before getting into this type of job. Either way, don't look to this industry to be one to retire from as people could in the past. It's become a job of the moment, not of the future.
