Pros

You receive a paycheck for the amount of time you stay employed. There are good people, but they are in the minority.

Cons

Company focus is strictly on the numbers. Client service and engineering accuracy are at the bottom of the priority list. Lots of pressure to make project financial numbers look good. Employees are pushed to work unrealistic amount of billable hours so that management receives their maximum incentive compensation bonus, while staff level employees receive no bonuses. Emphasis on billability is intense and layoffs are common. Employee morale is terrible. As close to a factory job as you can get in a professional practice.

As part of the Arcadis group of companies - EC Harris provides global opportunities to deserving candidates. The company has a lot of projects and clients and can provide a variety of projects.

Cons

Very less involvement of senior management, also - need to understand local conditions rather than impose global scales on everyone

Low pay grade for a multinational company. Has less projects for super structures(high rise buildings). Does not under take research advancements. Repetitive work. Project spans for years.
