Pros

Fast paced environment where it is easy to present your ideas and work on latest tech

Cons

Some orgs have succumbed to politics. Favoritism prevails and toxicity increases

Pros

Good pay (but not good enough for the extreme cost of living in Seattle)

Cons

Management mandated 5 days work from office starting in 2025 (previously was fully remote from 2020-2022ish, then 3 days in office for 2023-2024). Upper management does not have your best interests in mind. Lots of politics, even if your direct manager is good. Disappointing yearly 'raises', and disappointing promotion raises.

Pros

- genuinely challenging work - LP questions tend to filter out the usual bad actor coworkers - AWS experience just by working with it day in day out

Cons

- high chance of landing on a team with bad work life balance thanks to spineless leadership - PIP culture is real, particularly in bad orgs - Lots of bleeding edge work on age old tech - S-team has completely lost the plot. Jassy is the absolute worst CEO
