Pros

You get to bring home a paycheck.

Cons

Horrid IT Leadership; executives that think they are technical and give technical direction instead of vision. No other reason for working at AT&T beyond a paycheck. Their 'Green' initiatives consist of turning up the thermostat and roasting their employees instead of something like...I don't know...painting the tops of their buildings white. Moral is low here, nobody wants to take ownership of anything and the leaders refuse to sponsor anything unless they came up with the idea.

Pros

interesting technology if you have the opportunity, the benefits are good for vacation but not good for health insurance and the 401k plan is terrible - if you are going to restrict the funds to be chosen from at least make a list of good choices, the employee discounts are nice - especially now that they will include tv voice mobile and internet across the company,

Cons

low pay not accross the industry but for the job title - other industries pay more with comparable benefits for similar titles, disconnet between management and employees as we are told what we are going to do but have little oportuniyt for feedback, union attitude rules this company - why work if they don't have to

Pros

Education of the Telecommunications Industry and technology - AT&T offers many aspects of communication and the opportunity to learn about each is available.

Cons

Promotion/career advancement opps are inconsistent - many unqualified people are promoted. Some cream does rise to the top but not as often as it should. AT&T upper management is often disengaged from the "field" and not understanding of what the ranks deal with on a daily basis - this affects the tools they deliver downward to make our jobs "easier". It is widely thought that you must leave AT&T in order to be promoted in AT&T.
