Pros

Not much, I will say I had great direct management. It is unfair to say that has anything to do with ASM though. The management was already in place before ASM took over.

Cons

Honestly I don't even know where to start. As an overall perspective they really make you feel like you're 100% replaceable at any time. There is no room for advancement what so ever. Nobody at ASM cares about your carrier development. I worked at the NSD for the VA. As soon as ASM took over the contract our call volume jumped up dramatically. They let go of a bunch of high quality techs because they made too much and hired a bunch of people with no experience in the IT field. It's not fair to both the VA and the new employees. The VA and our veterans deserve better than that and the new employees were never given all of the details about the job. They set all of these new employees for failure. Because of all of this it's our veterans that will suffer.

PROUD TO WORK FOR ASM RESEARCH

Pros

ASM Research is a wonderful company! ASM's culture of patriotism and excellence in customer service makes me proud to be an employee of ASM Research. The call to be the best for our customers is communicated constantly and employees take pride in their contribution to the success of our projects. ASM Research is a company that has "heart" and deals with employee issues (good and bad) with compassion and integrity. Flexibility in work schedules and the ability to telework (if the position allows) is awesome! I have always known ASM Research to acknowledge and appreciate the employees that work hard, display integrity at all times, and put forth their best efforts to get the job done right! ASM Research also has an open-door policy as far up the chain as the Executive Vice President if needed! I have witnessed this firsthand. Very impressive!

Cons

PTO could be better, but it's still pretty decent.

Pros

The atmosphere and culture are key elements to work. ASM does a great job of keeping the culture flexible and fluid, allowing for teleworking and understanding. Like all companies, some managers are better than others, but that's expected. There has been tremendous growth the last 3 years and so there are many different places to find exciting opportunities. The company also offers free fruit and food every morning as well as free coffee. These are nice perks!

Cons

The leave policy is not aligned well with similar companies. Employees should earn more leave in quicker availability. The pay is at the low end of the scale for the jobs we do. That can be OK if there are more opportunities to get bonuses or raises. This seems to be a company-wide issue that HR/Management should evaluate so as not to lose the best talent over pricing. The cost of benefits seems high and we should compete them a little more to try to bring the price down.
