Pros

Decent competitive pay, $25.25 an hour

Cons

Quite a list of negatives.... 1 minute late your written up. 3 write ups and your fired. Get ready to work 11-12hr days on the regular. There are almost no normal work days. You'll be struggling to pick, while overnight receiving is behind and hasn't put product away yet. Horrendous management and turn over is incredible. Most employees don't make it past 3-6 months. Rate is always going up, but the staff is always fresh and lacking training. This makes it hard for employees to pick rate easily, The slower pickers create traffic that sometimes cannot be avoided. I was a top picker at this company for 6 months straight, there is zero incentive for hard work however. No pay increases etc. Terrible place to work and incredibly stressful environment.

Pros

Genuinely? You get paid, that was the only benefit from my time. I also acquired the ability to be extremely resilient to physical and mental discomfort.

Cons

Awful work life balance due to back to back late shifts and early morning shifts. Your shift end time (if working a close) is not a guarantee, as they are usually critically understaffed and don’t let you leave until all the relevant work is complete. This often resulted in finishing 1/2hrs later than expected. This company is the revolving door of all supermarkets. The staff turnover was immense. I watched management do nothing as a colleague I worked with suffered mistreatment and bullying. The staff had a tendency to be very ‘cliquey’. Your 20 minute breaks are timed. They work you like a pack horse, as their business model is based around efficiency. After working during the pandemic, the only thanks the staff got were a generic inscribed pen. The area management team were severely disconnected from reality, were really condescending and disingenuous whenever they visited the store. My mental health was at its absolute lowest during my brief time there. For the nightmare experience, the wages really aren’t high enough.
