Pros

lots of insurance business, job openings galore

Cons

ole boy network is strong here - lots of deadwood employees who protect each other to the detriment of everyone else - huge tension between the new hires and the old guard. strong resistance to change. shared services are terrible and processes and procedures were ignored for 10-20 years until the company went bankrupt

Cons

There is a tolerance to harassment and discrimination, no ethics of any kind. It is a very bad environment to be in, especially for women. No advancement opportunities and no teamwork. "street smart" behavior and ignorance of everybody else around seems to have the best chance to stay okay there. Any normal well-educated and ethical person should really stay away form the place and find employment where she/he appreciated and respected as well as have better prospects for career growth.
