They asked about my background and a few questions about testing how much I know about playing games myself, also showed the testing rooms to observer my knowledge with the process

Pitch me how you would re-design the “xyz…” Essentially asked to go through the redesign process for a popular object to see how you start.
Some questions were ones you would expect for a UX researcher, some were ones you would only expect for a UX designer position.

Standard questions: - Why did you leave your previous companies? - Hypothetical research scenario questions (these questions were asked by a product person and the whole process could've been better) - It seems like you were testing hypotheses in the research, why do you call this "exploratory" research but not "evaluative research?" (Context: the research was conducted to understand what users need and how users would react to a product idea. There were no launched products, POCs, or even any prototypes/mockups.)
