- which programming languages are you the most proficient in? - explain your understanding of probabilistic model checking - how would you approach a certain scientific problem (problem was given)
2 hours discussion about my masters project, including technical details and exam type question (i.e. "can you explain the background of this equation theory", "what equations can one derive from that theory", etc). Very little outside my project however.
Try to be prepared they will challenge you on the knowledge of the field and justify your interests (depends on individual panel really)

Series of soft skills questions designed to test if i fully understood what a PhD entailed and would be capable of carrying one through to the end. Three greatest strengths and then asked the weakest of those strenghts.
