They asked me whether I'd ever heard of the campaigning tactics, theories and philosophy of a US academic called Anat Shenker-Osorio - which I hadn't, because I'd not worked in human rights campaigning before. The interview was more cerebral than I was expecting and about whether you'd read the right intellectual treatises and theories rather than your skillset and experience. As this was also a line management role, I was a bit surprised that this important function of the role wasn't discussed at any point.
