First Round Interview Format: Please take your time to thoughtfully answer the questions and the cognitive test provided below. We understand that your time is valuable, so we expect the whole exercise to take around 1 hour in total. Interview Questions: Your answers to these questions will help us gauge your experience, aspirations, and alignment with our team's vision. Questions What's your experience with copywriting and email marketing? What kind of tasks have you handled in this realm, and do you have any experience with agency work? What would your ideal work situation look like at the moment, and what's most important to you in your job? What would your dream day-to-day look like if you joined us? Where do you see yourself in 1 year? Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Describe the work environment that will help you to contribute most effectively. How would you like to grow in this company? What's most important to you about the company you want to work for? How would your co-workers describe you? Why are you leaving your current position? Would you be open to starting part-time and scaling to full-time quickly (not a requirement, and we're more interested in a full-time hire from the beginning, but it could be an option) What salary range would you be looking for (to ensure we don't waste your time if we can't meet that)? Do you have some email copywriting examples you could share with me? Two more questions for fun: Which fictional character have you always dreamed of being and why? What's your favorite website? (Please name one marketing related and one for fun) Critical Thinking Test (30 minutes): We value your ability to analyze information, make judgments, and draw conclusions—a vital skill for a team lead. You can access the critical thinking test by logging into https://tests.mettl.com and entering the test key 327s6dfv28. Next Steps: After reviewing the responses and test results, we'll be in touch to discuss the second and third rounds of interviews. Round 2 involves an email copywriting task, followed by Round 3, which is a video meeting with me and Operations. In Round 4, you'll have the opportunity to meet with our CEO. Email Copywriting Task (2 hours) The copywriting task should showcase your ability to think strategically and creatively in drafting copy that will translate into a high-converting email design. Please write two email campaigns for Adelante Shoes, a DTC made-to-order shoe company. The emails should be well-written, in the brand's voice, and keep in mind that this will need to be converted to a design that works well on desktop and mobile. The two email campaigns you will be writing are: Welcome Email: The first email subscribers will get after joining the email list through a pop-up. Don't forget that this might need to include the offer in the pop-up and whatever else you find will delight customers and make them purchase. Also, don't forget that this email is usually part of a multi-sequence flow. Memorial Day Campaign: Come up with a creative campaign for Memorial Day and craft the copy around it. You have complete freedom regarding what the campaign will offer, e.g., discount, sale, content, etc.
