Initial phone interview followed by five 30 minute interviews in the second round. The interviews were very relaxed and they asked very straightforward questions. They did however ask if I was willing to relocate to Greensboro, NC even though the job location was listed under a different city in a different state which was very odd but they have remote opportunities available as well.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at XPO (San Diego, CA) in Feb 2022
Interview
The interview process was extremely long. From initial contact with their recruiter to "final" interview was over two months.
Each of the people I interviewed with were kind, professional, and seemed to want to make the right decision.
The main problems were- follow-up after each interview was lengthy, usually at least a week between interview and next steps. I had to prod them it seemed, or I wasn't getting any feedback.
I interviewed with 5 different layers of management, so it quickly got frustrating. If they were able to stack the interviews in a more timely fashion, this would not have been an issue. Also, at lease twice I was told the next interview would be the "final" interview, only for another one to crop up.
I understand (and can even appreciate) their desire to get the right candidate, but between the sporadic follow-up and the next "final" interview, it seemed like they didn't know what they were doing.
In fairness, I understand that the division I was applying with was spun off at the start of this process, so that may have played a role.
After the "final" interview I didn't hear anything back for over a week, and after a while assumed I didn't get the job. No problem, I understand. But it took me reaching out to them multiple times to multiple people to confirm that was the case.
In conclusion, just because you've made it to round 3, 4, or 5 with this company, don't think you're getting the job. They seem nice, but also pretty unsure of themselves.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The location I was interviewing for seemed to have had issues in the past, so the questions were geared towards walking into a difficult situation, and if I could handle it.
The process took 4 days. I interviewed at XPO (Los Angeles, CA) in Sep 2018
Interview
I asked the questions. The job pretty much landed in my lap. don't apply if you want to be paid well. Apply if you want an easy going environment. you could get paid more elsewhere
