In person whiteboard architecture questions, followed by a hands on coding test that focused on optimizations in data processing. Additionally some theory questions were asked (mostly O notation) related the code submitted.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Implement a search tree in language of your choice and add various optimizations.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Uber in Oct 2021
Interview
Recruiter reached out to me via email.
Scheduled first screening. All following interviews were virtual.
Had another call with HR representative.
After this call first tech screening call. One medium level question for 45 minutes.
Passed this round. Scheduled virtual on-site.
5 rounds 1 Behavior question 2 code 2 architectural rounds.
Scheduling was horrible interviewers rescheduled two of 5 rounds I never was notified. Need to reach out to the scheduler to understand what was going on. One of the interviewers didn't know what type of interview we had.
After I was done during the walk out I was told I will be notified in two weeks. No one ever came to me. HR don't answer the phone nor email.
Interviews themselves were normal and helpful no complains. The process of scheduling and responsiveness is awful.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Uber in Aug 2021
Interview
I had the weirdest experience I ever had with Uber.
After 5 min of interview interviewer just muted himself and said quote: "You do not need to talk to me. I'm just sitting and watching"
Almost all questions were ignored, I think interviewer was busy with something else.
Eventually, I've never heard back from recruiter.
