Interview
Received email asking for available interview times. Interview did not call on set date, played phone and email tag for a week until a second date was set. Basic HR weed out interview with general resume related questions.
I applied through college or university. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Tesla
Interview
I got in touch with them through a career fair at the university.
The interview process was not very organised. There were 4 interviews in total, with not much relation between each interview and the interviewer not knowing what the next step would be. The HR person I was in touch with seemed to be the only person knowing the connection between interview.
The interviews as such tested on most of the basics of electrical engineering, power torque relations, etc.

Question 1
Nothing in particular. All questions were fairly basic.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Tesla (Palo Alto, CA) in Mar 2012
Interview
First phone interview was a quick gloss-over of my resume, second was an actual engineer. The engineer was very quick and straightforward, wanted to know what I knew about Tesla and cars in general. I didn't think I was given a full opportunity to "strut my stuff," but Tesla is looking for people who were on vehicle teams all 4 years, so they know their market and interview accordingly.
