I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Subway in Aug 2015
Interview
Applied online, received a call for an interview with the Assistant Manager about two days later. I arrived for the interview 15 minutes earlier but actually met with the assistant manager earlier so I left at the time I was scheduled to come in anyway. Received another call the next day to come in for an interview with the owner. This time the interview took a lot longer, but it was very relaxed. He explained a lot of things to me about what they do at the store as well as what they were looking for in an employee. He emailed me three days later saying the position was filled up because they were looking for availability and I had given him a pretty much restricted availability.

Question 1
What would you do if you were dealing with an angry customer?
I interviewed at Subway (Barnsley, South West England, England)
Interview
I was sat down and asked questions about myself in a possible manner in the middle of the restaurant as people dined around me. I was then instructed to cut bread so they could see how well I could do.
Easy flow, face to face and they are quite patient with you. The manager are understanding if it's your first time and let you through the flow of the process
Very simple and straightforward. Normal questions like availability, have you worked in food service before, etc. I think it depends on location though since friends at other locations have had more substantive or less substantive interviews.
