I applied online. I interviewed at Shell in Sep 2012
Interview
Interview consisted of three parts:
1. Name an accomplishment
- Explain
- How did you monitor your progress?
- How many people were involved?
- Which obstacles did you encounter, how did you solve them?
- Which obstacles did you foresee?
- How did you know it would turn out as sucess?
- What was the most difficult part?
- What feedback did management give you (strengths and weaknesses?)
- What would you do differently next time and why didn't you do it in the first place?
- How did you plan the steps?
2. Work as part of a team
- Tell situation where you worked as a team?
- How did you manage the team?
- How do you handle difficult situations / people?
- Did you have to alter your way of communication?
- How do you make sure you stay healthy and don't devote all your time to the project?
- What did you team mates say about your qualities as a leader: strengths, weaknesses
3. Imagine you are a decision maker at a multinational, choose from 4 areas.
I chose Health, saefty, Security and Environment. Questions are so generic, however, that they are applicable to every area:
- How would you improve that area?
- Which obstacles do you foresee and how would you handle them?
- Which methods would you use?
- How do you think will this area develop in the next years?
- What are threats?
- What are opportunities?
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Be aware that they are quite harsh on the interview. I felt that I had totally screwed up. It was really bad. Tow days later I was invited to attend the SRD. Now waiting for that.
Shell’s interview process usually begins with online assessments and progresses to a Final Assessment, which includes a business case study presentation and a behavioral interview. Throughout the process, assessors evaluate your problem-solving ability, communication skills, leadership potential, teamwork, adaptability, commercial awareness, and how you approach complex business challenges and decisions.
I applied through other source. I interviewed at Shell (Singapour)
Interview
The interview process focses on behavioral assessments and technical screenings. Candidates are tested on the "CAR" method, focusing on safety, leadership, and on job competence through structured and in depth questions.
The first round is a recorded video interview. You need to record some videos based on their questions. There were 3 questions or me, which is not very unique. About your project, your interest in Shell.
