Interview with Recruiter on phone, Hiring manager on phone. then multiple interview sessions back to back with other team members, peer hiring managers and business partners. The process was smooth. everything went on time.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ServiceNow (San Diego, CA) in Mar 2020
Interview
The process was straight forward with a recruiting manager doing an initial phone screen, followed by speaking with a hiring manager and finally, a panel. The conversations were pleasant and straightforward with topics focusing on skill set and experience. Recruiter was always on top of it.
I applied online. I interviewed at ServiceNow (San Jose, CA) in Apr 2014
Interview
Flew up to San Jose for a full day interview. Met with 8 different individuals. Typical interview but the hiring manager gave me a homework assignment: "How would you influence each of the individuals who interviewed you? What techniques would you use?" I spent considerable amount of time preparing an email which I sent back to her within 24 hours. I thought I did very well during the interview and had a well thought out presentation prepared which I shared with a panel and had overwhelmingly positive responses. Sad part is that after all that hard work I never heard back from ServiceNow. I followed up multiple times with the Recruiter and the hiring manager. Left voicemails to the recruiter but did not hear back from them until about 2 months later with a generic "Thanks but no thanks" email from HR. Terrible followup and lack of professionalism from the recruiter and the hiring manager so I'm glad I didn't get the job. Funny part is that after all this, I emailed the "bad guy", who played tough, to let him know how disappointed I was with the entire process. He immediately emailed me back and apologized that no one had followed up and that he was going to speak to the recruiter and the hiring manager to let them know that they should be more professional and get back to people especially after taking so much time out of my schedule and not even get a courtesy reply.

Question 1
Typical interview questions. Nothing out of the ordinary. Last interviewer played the bad guy and seemed to be in a very bad mood. Was the end of the day for both of us so it was difficult to win him over.
