I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Panda Express (Dallas, TX) in May 2017
Interview
simple and straight to the point. The questions are mostly about you, to see if you can handle the work load. The work load can be intensive, so it helps if you know in advance.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Panda Express (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2019
Interview
Recruiter reached out to me and had a phone interview, he was happy with my previous experiences and wanted to move forward. He scheduled an in person interview with district manager in San Jose, Ca. Again both district manager who I had interview with wanted to proceed with hiring, so they scheduled paid job preview at same location. Job preview went very well and had an final interview with 5 people at a same time. They all asked basic interview questions and thanked me for coming in. I did not get the job offer, and Panda never paid for the hours that I spent at their paid job preview. Very not professional for big corporate. I e-mailed their recruiter about it, he never replied. Overall impression: Panda’s current area/district managers don’t hire someone who is very qualified for the position, instead they hire someone who is under qualified and like to train them to work for the company. Some of the managers stated that they work minimum 55 hours a week, terrible work, life balance.
