I recently completed the interview process for a position at Oracle and would like to share some observations about the experience for future candidates' reference.
The entire process spanned approximately two months. After completing the final round of interviews, I waited for about four weeks to receive an outcome. During this period, I followed up via email multiple times for updates, and each response stated they were "still comparing candidates." Regrettably, at no point during the process did I receive any thank-you notes for my time or apologies for the delays.
Specifically, I noted the following:
1. Communication from the HR representative was minimal and limited to logistical information, without the usual courteous or engaging tone expected in professional correspondence.
2. The interviewer in the third round was notably direct in their questioning and manner, lacking a baseline level of professional courtesy during the discussion.
3. For a company of this prominence, the overall process lacked timely feedback and a clear communication timeline, which was surprising.
I hope this feedback can be helpful for the company in improving its candidate experience. Clear communication and respectful treatment of applicants, even those not selected, go a long way in preserving a company's reputation.
