Interview
I had two rounds of interview. One interviewer was friendly but the other one was not. They typically asked about coding questions at median level but the time was very limited for candidates to solve the problems.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Meta in Jul 2021
Interview
Had an initial phone screen for their research scientist position which is a 1 hour long screening. The interviewer jumped right into the interview and the first was a LC medium question which had to be solved within 20-25 mins since the second part was an applied stats questions on expectation and cdf, pdf derivations. The last part was supposed to be an applied ML question. For my part, took me quite a while for the stats question with lots of hints since my stats knowledge on pdf to cdf and expectation was a bit rusty. Overall seemed like a reasonable process if you prepare a little with the stats basics and practice some probability puzzles.

I took the phone interview at FB, which included two Leetcode problems (easy/medium) level, with big(O) follow up. No resume went through or other stuff, only the algorithm problems were asked. Overall it felt good, the interviewer gave hints when I stuck.
