Product sense question: Design a volunteer product. The key here is to define where you're building it and why (I said within Facebook.com event section), discuss the mission, goal, North Star metric, competitors, industry etc. Then dive into users and prioritize based on reach and impact. Walk through user journey and brainstorm pain points and feature ideas. Discuss which feature you would prioritize based on RICE (reach, impact, eng effort). Discuss how you would measure success.
Analytical question: Define the mission, goals and metrics for Instagram Reels and a Video conferencing app like Zoom (I had two of these interviews - they asked me to redo the first one). Follow a similar structure to the product sense question, except the meat of this question will be some solid North Star metrics and counter metrics. They'll also ask a tradeoff question as a follow-up.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Meta (Austin, TX) in Apr 2025
Interview
I had an employee referral which I feel wasn't all that helpful overall but perhaps it did help get my resume seen by a recruiter, or maybe it "flags" the resume or application.. aside from that, the referral was never asked about or mentioned, and the employee that referred me didn't know any info about the position.
At first, my experience was not promising. The recruiter cancelled/rescheduled my initial phone screen 3 separate times so I felt pretty defeated. But once I had that initial call with the recruiter, i felt much more confident. The recruiter was extremely kind, personable, and helpful. I felt like she was really on my side and wanted to help me! Before the call ended, she let me know i would be getting an email regarding scheduling my call with the next manager.
I then had a zoom interview with 1 hiring manager or employee of some sort. He was also super kind, personable, chatty. We seemed to get a long great! He didn't make me feel nervous at all and there was good conversation there. He didn't give me any feed back or insight as to if I was getting moved to the next round or not.
About 2-3 days later, I got emails from the recruiter and coordinator that I would be making it to the final round of interviews that will be a "loop" interview with 4 different individuals for a total of 2 hours.
I have not had the final round yet, but feeling optimistic!

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Meta (Austin, TX) in Apr 2025
Interview
I have been in the process for exactly one month so far. I got an employee referral which from my understanding doesn't do too much for you except maybe flag your resume to be looked at sooner than applying on your own.
I first got a call from a recruiter which was rescheduled 3 times. (yes, three separate times it got pushed back by the recruiter). At first, this was pretty intimidating and defeating but once the call happened, I was relieved because she was SO kind, helpful, informative, and sounded like she really was on my side. She didn't ask a ton of questions- it was very conversational, I did my formal intro for her where i explain my background and "about me". She immediately moved me on to the zoom interview and told me what to expect. she said someone would be reaching out and to go into my career profile and update my availability etc.
The initial zoom interview with a hiring manager/team member was also very conversational, laid back, a few behavioral questions were asked that my recruiter prepped me for slightly. I left that interview feeling super confident! There was a lot of back and forth convo, both personalities showed through, etc.
The recruiter also pushed me to another round zoom interview for a different job- same title job but different team. So currently am interviewing for 2 different jobs. I had the second zoom interview round and this one wasn't as conversational or laid back. it was much more structured and a little more intimidating. I think this is just the difference in the two interviewers personalities. For this one, I just wasn't able to feel the interviewer out or show my personality much. It was pretty straight forward and just to the point.
I haven't heard back to see if I passed/am getting moved onto the final round yet.
