I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at KFC (Wrexham, Pays de Galles) in Oct 2012
Interview
I have applied in store by simply handing in my CV. Few days later I had a phone call inviting me for an interview. The interview was held at the restaurant at one of the offices above eating area. Restaurant General Manager who held the interview was very polite and helpful during the interview as well as during the initial phone call received.
During the interview everything has been clearly explained to me - hours of work, shift patterns, pay, amount of holiday I can take, sick pay, duties and responsibilities. Then I have watched a video on a PC showing me clearly what I would be expected to do and how to do it correctly. Once the video has finished I have been asked a few questions by the RGM in order to find out whether or not I understood and remembered whatever the video has shown. Personally I didn't get all questions right, however the interviewer corrected me and told me what the correct answer was.
It was my first ever job and I did not have any valuable work experience at the time, nevertheless the RGM was genuinely interested in what I studied and what I enjoyed doing in my free time.
At the end of interview I had my uniform fitted and I was invited to start working the next week.
the interview was pretty straight forward, showed up got the job! asked simple questions, what was my experience , if i was opening to learning a new skill. had 4/5 days of training, i loved morning shift hated working nights with a different team. dont speak english
it was okay they offered one quickly through an email with many different times and dates that you can choose from and send emails and texts to remind you of when it is so you don’t forget
I was contacted by HR for a brief screening call. They confirmed my background, clarified my experience, and outlined the role, salary range, and expectations. This stage was straightforward and primarily focused on fit and availability.
