I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at IKEA (New York, NY) in Oct 2021
Interview
Process was terrible from start to finish. I applied online and received an email from a recruiter to do a quick phone interview. Interview time came and didn't receive a call. After 45 minutes I sent an email to the recruiter and I received a call immediately The interviewer seemed very annoyed that I would dare email her about missing the interview time. She robotically read off some generic questions and was rushed to get through. She would cut me off halfway through my answer and basically finish the answer for me. Once that was over I was surprised to hear from them asking to set up an in person interview. I thought why not hoping that the employees who actually work in the field would have a better attitude plus I could do some shopping afterwards. I showed up to the interview and the interviewer was a man with a very heavy Spanish accent. I could barely understand anything he was saying to the point where he would ask a question(again, from a list that he would just fire off) and when he would finish we would both look at each other and just laugh because we both knew I couldn't understand a word he was saying. We even tried switching to Spanish but his dialect was so strong that it didn't work either. He then mentioned that he was doing some sort of work exchange within the company and was just in the US for a year and wasn't a permanent employee at the location. The entire thing didn't make any sense and was a complete waste of time.
