The process was initiated from my last university co-op term. There was opportunity to network to find a department expected to have hiring tickets on my graduation date. My first line manager facilitated introductions into the hiring department, but it was up to me to ask for help with searching. Around middle of my term, after I had demonstrated my work capability, I put the full-time question out in regular meetings. In a way, the interviewing really started with my co-op term. The actual interview with the hiring department was quite informal.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at IBM (Markham, ON) in Oct 2012
Interview
I was a remote hire. Over the phone, we talked about team culture, what the team is like and what types of tasks are available to be completed. No technical questions. Just general questions like "Can you code in C++", "Do you know how to debug and trace code".

Since I was previously an intern with an A evaluation, there were no technical or difficult questions to answer. My interview was more like a discussion and they probably expect me to be already proficient at the job. I believe I did terribly on the online aptitude test, which asks IQ questions related to patterns and reasoning... but I still got an offer.
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at IBM
Interview
Met with 6 folks (some managers and tech leads) in a single day that began at 9am and ended at 4:30pm. Managers tended to describe the products and gauge how my personality might fit within the team. Technical leads grilled me on some of the finer points of Java development, heap/stack questions, and JEE. I was also asked brainteaser / riddle style questions. While in the presence of the interviewer, I was asked to draw on the whiteboard and talk my way through solving the riddle.
