Interview
Telephone interview: (5-15min)
They ask you about your interest in the position, what experience you have (if any), and what sort of projects you were involved in at university.
Assessment day: (whole day)
The assessment day starts off with pretty much an introduction on what it will consist of, after that brief is over. They test how well you can present yourself. You're asked to introduce yourself to everybody, and then think of a person (dead or alive) that you wish you could have a dinner with.
The next exercise was to take on the persona of your dinner guest and form a group of four. You then had to imagine that you were on a sinking ship and had to kill off one of the members your group. You have to try and persuade your group why your character should be kept on the boat while FDM monitor and take notes on how you are communicating with your group.
You then have an interview with two people that ask you about your experience, your skills, why you want to work at FDM, what projects you were involved in, and general competency based questions.
There's a note taking exercise where you need to jot down the most important points from a video then write a formal summary of what the video consisted of. The one I had was about loans/ and mortgages.
Next, there's a technical test that tests basic programming concepts, and general computing principles.
Finally they give you an induction presentation.

Interview
Got a phone interview and was invited to London for assessment centre.
First part is a Skype interview with a Hong Kong office manager, with a HR sitting next to me taking notes. Standard behaviour questions came from HR, and most of the time, the HK office manager was selling application role, for some reason. Then it was another interview with London office manager. They were very nice and professional. All were standard behaviour questions. Tips are to tell them how much you love IT. I can say 1:1 interviews were friendly.
Technical test and logical test followed. Technical test was not tough. For programming part, having knowledge of first 3 chapters of books like "Introduction to Big Java" will be enough. However there were lots of definition questions like what URL stands for. Logical test is standard.
Group exercise was cancelled for some reason. After the HR talk, AC finished.

Question 1
Would you consider Application Support role? Don't know why they ask you something that you are not applying for. I answered YES anyway.
