I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at ByteDance (Singapour) in Jun 2021
Interview
4 technical interviews in total, last 1 month. Failed in the final interview with no reason. I think it's total Waste of time. They keep sending interview invitation and keep failing the candidates. You cannot obtain the job requirements and job content via the JD they list on linkedin. You will only know it when you attend the interview and ask the interviewers directly. The hrs know nothing about the job, they only care about sending your CV to the demanding department.
Live Coding for 30 minutes, ask about the project I did. You must be very good at coding to pass the live coding part. It's around leetcode medium level. The interviewer was nice and gave many advices on future career.
Describe the most complex backend project you have taken charge of in the past. What is the business peak QPS? What technical bottlenecks did you encounter and how did you optimize them?
The interview process was fairly standard. They asked about technical skills, projects, and tested coding abilities. Overall, the communication went smoothly.
The interviewer was guiding throughout the process, helped debug the coding questions, and offered ideas to move forward.
