I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Boeing
Interview
First, there is a phone interview. The recruiter asks about your background, STAR model-type questions (tell me about a time when you.... ex: worked on a team, etc.). If you pass through to the next round, they fly you to Seattle. I had two 30-60 minutes interviews, first with an HR rep and next with my hiring manager. Similar questions to the phone interview. Pretty laid back.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Boeing (Huntsville, AL) in Apr 2008
Interview
I interviewed with Boeing as a college student for a summer internship. The interview was conducted via phone with 2 interviewers. The questions were mostly situation based in nature (i.e. How would you handle this situation? Give an example of a time you were in this situation? etc.). The interview lasted about 45 minutes in total. The interviewers were personable and professional. I was given the opportunity to ask any questions i may have had. It would be better if they gave the opportunity to come see the office or do an in-person interview as this gives a better sense of the working environment and people who will be your colleagues. Overall the experience was positive.
