I had an initial phone screening with the recruiter, during which several questions were asked that were already clearly addressed in my CV (e.g., highest level of education, English language proficiency).
Given my senior-level experience, I found it disappointing that the discussion remained at a very basic level, without any opportunity to explore the role itself or assess mutual fit.
We also did not reach alignment on salary expectations. While I shared that I was interviewing for positions in the specific range, the recruiter encouraged me to lower my figure. I explained that I would need more information — such as the detailed role description, benefits package, and proposed salary range — before revising my expectations. Unfortunately, no such information was provided, and my application was declined without feedback or any further discussion.
