1st off BD is a great company and very innovative. Everyone I have spoken to has had nothing but good things to say; everything was positive from Employee development, career mentoring, to fulfilling projects and generous salary.
This is why I wanted to work there so much.
I applied in Dec. 2010 and it took until March to get to the selection process.
Mostly the interview consisted of a panel like conversation about my scientific background, successes and challenges. They mostly want to know how you think, how much you want to have the opportunity, and general knowledge for placement purposes.
Generally, STAR or personality questions. The big question is "why do you want to work at BD?" They want good people and people who think BD is a great place. Drop names and mention specific conversations with current or previous employees. Talk to the recruiter and develop a good relationship before the interview also!
Very selective program and selection is based on the divisions that need specific skills. I didn't take it too personally when I didn't get a call back, but I was disappointed.
It would be nice if they knew the skills they wanted and only interviewed the ones with those skills, but I think I learned a lot from the process and still want to work at BD in the future.
