I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Apple (Ithaca, NY) in Nov 2017
Interview
There were three stages of phone screen. The first was mainly a resume review, and the last two were more technical. The final one was 45 mins of technical questions.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They started with a generic question (i.e. how would you support a cantilevered sign post) and then would probe into the answers until I couldn't answer any more (i.e. what on a molecular level makes metal ferric)
1 hr interview with hiring manager through phone call. The hiring manager introduced himself and his group in apple. He was very nice to talk to. Get the rejection about 1 week after the interview with no explanation.
Relaxed phone call for the screening interview - went over availability, projects the team works on, etc. The interviewer slipped in minor technical questions as I went over my experience, and saved a few for the end.
