I applied online. I interviewed at Apple (Riyad) in Aug 2024
Interview
Online Interview, it took only 5 minutes.
They asked to see my projects and one code from one of the projects.
They also asked about some short fundamental programming questions like arrays and loops.
And we finished the interview with personal questions.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
One question was about on of my projects, it was about how did I connect the API to the code, it was a weather app project that uses API to fetch data.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Apple (Savannah, GA) in Jan 2014
Interview
A campus recruiter came to my school, I interviewed with two recruiters. The interview went really well, they just asked me to show as much as I could. I am a graphic design student, so I showed work in different fields and really pinpointed the user, and the experience with each design. I started a 5-Panel hat brand in 2012, so I showed that process inside and out, and I think that helped a lot. the recruiter advised me to interview with the group who was on the Interface Design team, so I interviewed with them later that day. that interview was much more difficult, it involved coding, probably since I was being interviewed by a developer. At night, Apple gave a presentation to students, and after I spoke to someone on the Itunes visual design team. She gave me an exercise to complete within 3 days, which was also during finals week.
A few weeks later, I was denied from the Interface Design internship, and the Itunes internship. But I was contacted by the recruiter who interviewed me first. She had me interview with a team member via Skype. That went well, but I was still nervous. 2 weeks went by and I started to get even more nervous. I then received a phone call from the recruiter, and she informed me about my acceptance for the MarComm internship. I was extremely excited and pleased. Hope this helped !
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
No question was too hard for the MarComm interview, I just tried to cover as much ground as I could by explaining reasons behind my design process, and tried to link those circumstances with situations that Apple could face, without mentioning Apple. ( I didn't want to sound like an extreme fanboy )
The Interface Design interview: The most difficult questions were based on how I designed certain interfaces, for instance, I completed a project where I redesigned the interface of an ATM machine, and I showed my project on an Ipad, and the team asked how the interface and design would change if it were used on a bigger screen or a different platform.
