Interview
My interview process lasted approximately 4–5 months and ultimately ended without a written offer after a verbal offer had already been extended.
A recruiter initially reached out, and weeks later I had a first-round interview. The interviewer did not appear to know which role I had applied for and conducted the conversation based on a different posting. Even after I corrected this, the interview continued in that direction. Questions were vague, and when I asked for clarification, they were simply repeated rather than explained. It did not feel like a structured or prepared evaluation.
Despite this, I was informed they wanted to move forward. About a month later, I interviewed again with the same individual and the person who would have been my direct manager. This conversation was more substantive, and I continued in good faith.
Two weeks later, the recruiter called with a verbal offer, discussed compensation, and stated a written offer would be sent by the end of the week. That written offer never arrived.
Over the following weeks, communication became inconsistent. I was told there were internal hiring freezes, yet there was no proactive update, timeline, or formal withdrawal of the offer. After more than a month of waiting with no documentation or clarity, I withdrew from the process myself.
Several weeks after that, the recruiter contacted me again stating he would be glad to have me join the team soon, despite no formal resolution.
Extending a verbal offer without the operational ability to follow through and allowing the process to stretch across several months without transparency reflects poor coordination and a lack of respect for candidates’ time. Candidates should be cautious about applying to this company.
