I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Los Angeles, CA) in Jul 2024
Interview
I was contacted by an Amazon recruiter. They sent me a link to get prepared for the first interview with a manager. About 10 days after I had an interview with a Software lead. She went through simple coding exercise that I did good. But I think she did not chose me as I was looking for a role on technical side and not managing people. She was very polite and nice and overall I had a good experince with them.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
It was simple object oriented programming in C++. Design and write some code for polymorphism. Write Derived classes. Overloading, overriding. Did you manage people in your previous role. Some questions about team work and leading projects.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon
Interview
4 rounds with bq, interviewers were a bit pushy and spent tons of time on bq. didn't pass the interview at the end so I shared my experience in the interview questions section
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
round 1 asked a leaderboard design problem; the interviewer kept interrupting me when I was explaining my thought, so I had to keep rephrasing myself. also bq cost quite some time. round 2 asked a leetcode question. The interviewer was better than round 1, still spent tons of time on bq questions. round 3 asked a question called abusive words, which I saw exact same question on hack2hire so I got chance to prep before the interview. even with prep I still had to put some effort on edge cases. round 4 was sys design
First of all, I had an interview with a recruiter from the company.
Next, I had a technical interview with two senior software engineers from the company. I did my best, but my technical expertise didn't meet their requirements.
