I applied online. I interviewed at Amazon in Feb 2021
Interview
First 30 minutes was just chit chat. The last 30 minutes was technical question. Basically I need to finish a program and the program is about converting some date time format with first onverting to seconds.

Interview
The recruting organizer didn’t care about my location in and didn’t specify time zone for the interview.
The very first interview was with a team lead , no screening before. It looked like the lead didn’t even know that such a position exists.
None of my questions about position were answered.

Question 1
The very first interview was with a senior engineer (no screening, no job explanation, etc). He didn’t give me introductions about himself and couldn’t explain me anything about position, saying that he doesn’t even know that it exist...
First 30 minutes were random behavior questions and every time in the end he was asking to give concrete example on what did you do in that particular case. I felt that he didn’t listen to me. Last half an hour was a simple coding task with an additional question on adding another small feature. There were no questions or comments on the code except 1 small syntax error.
The coding task was to find number of words separated by a space.

Interview
My recruiter gave me a list of subjects to brush up on before my interview like BST, BFS, DFS, tree traversals, etc. None of which were ever mentioned in the interview.... Instead, my interviewer asked me to solve some silly little puzzle that he had found on the Internet. Just pathetic, AWS really needs to revamp their interview process and guidelines.

Solve some silly puzzle on stacks that my interviewer found on the Internet which was completely irrelevant from what my recruiter told me to study up on.
