I applied through other source. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Bengaluru) in Feb 2010
Interview
3 Phone Screens (PS). If satisfactory performance in PS then face-to-face interview (4-5 rounds).
Recruitment Coordinator (RC) calls and asks convenient date to start with PS. RC doesn't do any hurry and candidate can ask for 1-2 weeks for preparation.
Interviewer gives very good introduction to job title and work nature.
Interview is on different competencies. And candidate has to literally write the code in PS.
If candidate clears PS then he/she asked to come onsite for face-to-face interview.
There are 4-5 rounds again on different competencies. Mostly the leadership principles (problem solving, technical, attitude, deep dive, etc.) and coding.
Final round is taken by Bar Raiser.

I applied online. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Apr 2011
Interview
I interviewed for an Oracle EBS position in the Global Financial Systems group. Had 8 interviews and very interesting ones. One thing to note is - you shouldnt bluff. I have been interviewing with many companies and I have never been "cross questioned" so much for any of my answer. If I put something on my resume, I better know it well! If I said, I did something, they are most likely to ask you more probing questions around it - why did you do it or why didnt you do something else etc!

I was asked to explain relational databases although my job profile had nothing to do about it!
I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon in Jun 2012
Interview
I got two phone interviews from Amazon. Both are focused on technical problems. I've attended an job fair in school and submitted my resume to the coordinator from Amazon. After about two weeks she sent me an email saying that they had arranged an interview for me and wanted me to tell them when would be a nice time to have it. After about one week of the first phone interview, I received another email that let me be prepared for the second phone interview. One day after the second one, Amazon sent me a email telling me they would not give me chances of 1-on-1 interviews.
