I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Middletown, DE) in Mar 2016
Interview
Applied on the website first. Email exchange with a recruiter. Then a phone screen. Phone screen went well so they flew me down to (outside) Philly for an in person.
The in-person session was intense. Full morning, tour of the facility, 15 min math flow problem (see earlier review that shows the problem laid out), followed by 4 separate 30-45 min sessions with different people.
It was basically entirely "tell me about a time" questions that applied to the leadership principles. I felt it went ok, but didn't receive an offer. I'm not sure I would have accepted anyway. Everyone there sounded like they worked 60-80 hrs a week, hardly had any personal life, etc...

Question 1
Entirely "tell me about a time" questions that applied to the leadership principles.
Recruiter reached out to me and we set up a meeting, she was friendly. Had to follow up a few times to get a timeline of how things are going, but overall was a positive experience.

Assessment, written assessment, four interviews. It was a simple but lengthy process. You will interview with four different individuals, not a panel. So be prepared for a few hours spending 30-40 minutes each. Even if you nail one two or three, if one interview doesn’t go as smooth it can cause you to not get an offer.

Question 1
Three part questions, and what did you learn? Even if your example was spot on with the situation task action and result they still want you to provide an explanation of what you would do differently. Be prepared for this question after examples for every interviewer. They want details and exact data and numbers.
