Would you take a paycut to join visa ?
How much have you been able to increase your salary over your entire career? I am six years into mine and more than doubled my starting salary, interested to see where others are at.
Does your company have a standard internal promotion salary % increase? I know job hopping is the best way to increase, but I’m looking at a 15-20% increase for internal promotion. Is this typical?
Is the 'jump every 2 years for a 20% bump' strategy officially dead? It feels like the market is forcing everyone to just sit tight and accept 2% (or less) annual raises. Has anyone actually pulled off a massive total comp jump by switching companies recently?
I know it can be seen as a read flag to job hop, but is it also bad that at a certain point you have too many years with one company?
Got an offer letter from Walmart Inc., at Bentonville. The job description said the range is $70K - $130K. And they offered me $90K saying this is even higher and wouldn’t get approved. Apparently it did. I got very similar strong experience for the role. I was expecting well around $100K, should I negotiate on this? How would you handle it? I acknowledge the job market is bad, and Arkansas is comparatively cheap. Seeking advice.
This really depends on what company you’re coming from and if you feel like the brand-name will help you get other opportunities in the future.
Mastercard to Visa
Depends if it’s contract or salary, office location, and how much of a cut
What % pay cut is this?
Nope and I know this for a fact because I didn’t. It was about maybe three years ago. They kept saying they could meet my number as long as they could get a title bump approved. Basically they posted it as a Dir and they would need to get into the Sr. Dir band. They were able to get the title bump but then came back with lass than I was making and I passed. I felt a little bad because I had an internal referral but then he left Visa within a year.
How much of a paycut? Where are you trying to go with your career?
