Pros

Sephora is and is all about people. Your internal and external clients are all that counts. The Values the company lives by are meaningful and inspiring.

Cons

Lots of initiatives that are difficult to deliver under the current payroll structure.

Pros

- Excellent pay for retail industry - Team sales goals instead of individual, promotes team work and no cat fights about sales. - Discounts, gratis, and constant learning environment I personally love Sephora! I am fortunate to work there and in an industry that I love. To all the complainers... maybe you should get a different job because there are TONS of people out there that would love to work at Sephora and probably do a better job than you too.

Cons

- Like any retail store, getting time off can sometimes be an ordeal, and sometimes just doesn't happen.

Pros

Flexible Hours Gratis Brand Trainings Non-commission based pay= Better Client Service Great for people with less cosmetics experience Location Because we're not paid on commission MOST of the staff is very friendly and non-competitive

Cons

The pay is laughable, the schedule is all over the place (open, close, open, close, work 9 days straight, have ONE day off, work 4 days straight), Management is incredibly condescending, faux-supportive, and has delusions of Sephora's importance. Sephora rode out on a good high-horse years ago, truly giving employees respect, competitive pay, and a wealth of training, education, and gratis. from what I can tell, the company has seen a HUGE expansion in the last few years, but has been giving employees a song and dance about the economy so they don't have to give their employees raises. Sephora is still riding on the reputation that they built, but not all stores/markets are created equal. And about those trainings? Some of the "education" is just over-inflated swill. The people who really "believe" in Sephora really buy into this over glorified creams, but as for me, I take it with a grain of salt. Sephora is perfect for very young and impressionable people who really think working at Sephora will make them a Color Specialist, a Skincare Expert. Someone who doesn't know what they are worth, and is probably not worth much going into the job. Sephora is not for anyone with a true passion for really helping people, who knows what they are worth, or even what competitive pay is for this type of cosmetics/skincare base retail. It is a good way to get your foot in the door and get experience with the cosmetic industry. Just move on before you get bogged/down and sucked into the hype.
