Pros

The benefit package is terrific and the intrinsic value of working in such a great field where we really make a difference in people's lives is rewarding. Columbus is also a great city to work. A great family city with lots to do.

Cons

Management denegrates the value of employees and tries to wring every iota of time and effort irregardless of the imalance in your life. There is minnimal positive feedback but you sure do hear if there's a problem. Everyone is stressed and the morale is really horrible. There are still layoffs of really really good, talented people while others who have perfected the "suck-up" get promoted.

Pros

They have great benefits including 401K, profit sharing and pension. The health insurance is pretty good as well. They do try to keep any extra time to a minimum.

Cons

Entrenched management means very little room for advancement. They seem to all stay in their same jobs, so there isn't any room for others to advance. There are some situations where people move to other departments or other divisions which helps. However, most other divisions are located in Chicago, so you really need to be there to have any additional opportunities.

Pros

The benefits are really great and room for career development/perhaps advancement. Also there are many affinity groups so you can find people you share hobbies with. There are many divisions within the company so you are able to move very easily within the company if you build the right networks. They offer a career development program which for entry level employees can be beneficial and teach them more about the overall Corporation. A lot of the work force is currently retiring so there will most likely be many opportunities for promotion. They have a shuttle so if you live downtown then can easily commute. The Clara Abbott Foundation helps a lot of people who are in need; I have heard of them doing some great things for people at no cost.

Cons

Micromanagement at least in departments in my area. The area where it is located is pretty much isolated from the bigger cities.
