I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Sodexo (Dorchester, MA) in May 2018
Interview
Initial phone screen followed up by an in-person interview. The phone screen was easy enough and just went over my resume. I was invited a week later for an in-person interview. The manager took a multiple days to respond to emails and I was not sure what time I would be interviewing until the day before. When I arrived, I walked into a panel interview which I was not made aware of in advance. Interview questions were from a packet from hr and were pretty easy. It ended with a tour of the hospital and kitchen. I never heard back from them afterwards.

Question 1
Describe a situation where you had to deal with conflict.
A series of three interviews in which I felt as though I was led on. Met staff members and other employees outside of the department as if I was getting the job. The Chef basically told me to get out while I still can because he hates his job. It really felt like my time was wasted

Interview
More than the process, understand the organization first...Sodexo HR is top-heavy, networks among themselves, doesn't reply on LinkedIn. If they look down their nose at you, they let your resume sit in the ATS database, instead of giving short-handed Directors external candidates to choose from. You can tell HR is an old school "kiss up, manage down" group.
Sodexo won't acknowledge management turnover in large health care accounts.
Overall, Sodexo seems to discourage candidates from outside its industry...they like to promote from within, they say. However, outside Food Service is where the customer-centric strategies come from. They prefer them young and just out of school. But, the young can't always offer the insight to satisfy and retain value-driven accounts.
